In certain cases, users who live in a time zone with an offset from UTC that overlaps with another time zone could get the wrong time zone displayed when selecting a shift to override. This should now be fixed ✨
Fix incorrect shift time zones
Stop guessing who's on-call 📟
Ever wonder who's on-call for a particular team? You don't know if you need to page anyone yet, but things look fishy and you want to see if they're around.
Everyone we've talked to builds their own bot to try to quickly figure out who's on-call in a moment. Well no need to use bubble gum and spit. Today we're introducing
/on-call, which will display to you who's on-call for what team.
Give it a spin and let us know what you think!
Note: If you've already installed Ovvy, you may need to re-install to pick-up the new commands.
Published in the Slack App Directory 🎉
Ovvy is officially in the Slack app directory! No longer do you need to sign-up for our private beta to ask your teammates for an override. Head over to Slack, install Ovvy, and let us know what you think 🐢
Completed API permissions migration
We’ve migrated Ovvy to now use the new Slack API permissions. This is a security improvement, and allows us to scope down to only require the exact API scopes Ovvy needs.
Added status page
We think knowing what’s happening is good. If Ovvy’s fully or partly down, we’ll share what we’re trying to do to mitigate the issue on our status page.
Fixed bug around items displayed limit
Slack has a limit on the number of displayed items in a context element. We use this element to display the potential poll takers on a schedule on the next page. We’ve now accounted for this limit anytime Ovvy uses a context element!
Reduced clicks with preset time zones
We shipped a fix so that we pre-fill the timezone with either your set Slack timezone or the one set by PagerDuty for the shift.
Improved comprehensibility by switching times into prose format
We may have to know how to read times written in computer-friendly formats, but that doesn’t mean we have to like them! We’ve switch times into the clearer prose format.
Reduced clicks for teams with one escalation policy
Before, every team had to choose from a list of escalation policies, even if they only had one. Now, for those teams, users immediately see the details for that policy.
📓 We're starting a changelog
Big news today, we're starting a public changelog so you're always up to date with all the updates, improvements and fixes that are made in Ovvy 🎉
Even though we work on Ovvy all the time, sometimes it may seem that not much is happening. This changelog is here to improve that very important part of the communication between you and us.
You'll always receive an update when we change something in the widget, or if needed all things we've changed is available on our public changelog page.
